Frank Bongiovanni DPM | Podiatrist at Weil Foot & Ankle Institute
Dr. Frank Bongiovanni was inspired to become a podiatrist by his father, who worked for the Dr. Scholl company making orthotic shoes. Today, Dr. Bongiovanni is an associate professor at the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in addition to working as a practicing physician at WFAI.
In addition to general podiatry training, Dr. Bongiovanni is trained in pedorthics, or the practice of using specialized footwear to correct issues with the foot or ankles. In fact, one of Dr. Bongiovanni’s orthotic devices once was used by a mountaineer scaling Mt. Everest!
Dr. Bongiovanni is also a part of several charitable organizations, including the Sister Paulanne Needy Family Fund, the Midwest Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation, and the Chicago Proton Center. Dr. Bongiovanni believes in the power of diet and exercise as a foundation for a healthy lifestyle. So he is an avid spin biker and tennis player, belonging to the Glenview tennis club. He also enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two daughters.
