John Grimes Facts

He was brought up in Italy alongside his twin brother Edward.

John and Edward studied at the same schools.

He considers singer and songwriter Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, and the Backstreet Boys to be his inspiration. It was during his high school that he began to take a serious interest in singing and competed in various school competitions alongside his brother Edward.

During his younger days, John worked as a game tester for Xbox 360.

He and his brother Edward are both fans of the football clubs Newcastle United and Celtic.

In 2008, John entered the talent show The X Factor alongside his brother Edward under the alias of John & Edward. Their style of singing was disregarded by TV personality and entrepreneur Simon Cowell.

While on The X Factor, he was mentored by TV personality Louis Walsh.

He released his debut studio album as a member of Jedward on July 16, 2010. It was titled Planet Jedward. The album was ranked at #1 on the Irish Albums Chart and at #17 on the UK Albums Chart.
