KAIRI SANE is reportedly exploring options over whether to quit WWE when her contract expires at the start of next year.

The 31-year-old Japanese high-flyer has enjoyed a stunning impact ever since she won the inaugural Mae Young Classic in the summer of 2017.

Sane, real name Kaori Hosako, signed a three-year contract with WWE in June that year and went on to enjoy huge success wrestling on the company’s development brand by winning the NXT Women's Championship.

The Pirate Princess has since found a home on RAW after becoming one-half of the Women's Tag Team Champions with Kabuki Warriors partner Asuka.

However, according to F4WOnline.com, her current WWE contract is set to expire in early 2020 and she is thought to be wanted back by her former promotion, World Wonder Ring Stardom.

Dave Meltzer commented on Sane's situation on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio: “I could see her leaving.

“I don’t know that she’s gonna leave but she’s definitely expressed interest in exploring other options.”

Despite links that Sane's tag partner Asuka is also interested in life outside WWE, Meltzer revealed the Empress of Tomorrow is feeling settled.

He added: “I’ve heard no rumblings whatsoever of Asuka leaving — I’m under the impression she’s very happy in this country.”

WWE have recently been tying all their top talent down to new contracts, amid the growing war with rival promotion All Elite Wrestling.

Former Divas Champion Paige, who served as the Kabuki Warriors' manager, penned a new deal to remain with the company last week.
