American sports journalist Laura Rutledge is one of the luckiest people who have great support from her husband to accomplish her dreams.

The Florida native is currently serving as a host of ESPN network's NFL Live.  Before that, she contributed to SportsCenter Coast to Coast and was also a reporter for CNN International. 

Born on 2nd October 1988, Laura, not only gained fame but also has earned a remarkable amount of income from her work as a television journalist.

Rutledge recently grabbed her high-profile opportunity with ESPN to host ‘NFL Live'

In June 2020, ESPN’s NFL Live underwent a major shakeup when Laura Rutledge replaced Wendi Nix as the main host. 

The show airs from Monday to Friday along with NFL Insiders. Accompanying Rutledge as the hosts of the show are Dan Orlovsky and Marcus Spears. With the new signings, Rutledge, Orlovsky, and Spears became part of ESPN’s plan of NFL LIve’s permanent hosts. Previously NFL Live was hosted by Wendi Nix and Trey Wingo.

The new gig was definitely a high-profile one for Rutledge, as prior to this she was delegated to mostly covering college football.

Rutledge has an extensive resume with ESPN. Before bagging the much-coveted role as the NFL Live host, Rutledge often contributed to Get Up!, an ESPN morning show, that was catered to giving news and opinions on the ongoing NFL trend and events. 

Rutledge also hosted both The Home Depot College Football Awards and the ESPYs.

In addition to her football coverage, Rutledge also covered ESPN’s live-event programming college basketball, gymnastics, baseball, and softball. She also did her part in covering the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championships, College Football Playoffs, and the Women’s College World Series.

ESPN coverage is not Rutledge’s only forte, however. Before working at ESPN, she covered sports for CNN’s New Day and Early Start. Additionally, she also worked on HLN’s Morning Express with Robin Meade.

Her extensive work in sports journalism won her the 2011 Red Barber Award for Excellence in Broadcasting. Her work also cemented her name in The Big Lead’s 40 Sports Media Talents Under 40 list.

Laura met her husband, Josh Rutledge during a Football Tailgate. After two years of relationship, Laura tied the knot with Josh Rutledge on 7 December 2013. Josh is a professional baseball player who plays for the Boston Red Sox. The couple were engaged before some months of their wedding and even had their engagement shoot in October 2013.

The couple celebrated their third wedding anniversary in December 2016 and on occasion, Laura posted a special throwback wedding picture on her Instagram.

In October 2nd, 2019, Rutledge gave birth to a baby daughter named Reese Katherine Rutledge. The date was made more special as it was also Rutledge's birthday. 

Laura is a fortunate lady with a very supportive husband. In early January this year, she uploaded a picture with her husband at the closing ceremony of college football 2017 season and thanked him for his sacrifice for her dream job.
